Standard 60" alcove tub, it will be used only as a tub.
Replacing the tub valve set,, I typically use 2 handle tub/shower valve set and plug the shower port.
I do not do any plastic supply,, if it is a wall, it is sweat copper.

This set up will not have rear access,, so I am looking for a few criteria:
1) A 2 handle tub/shower valve set, WITH the ability to direct sweat the copper supply to the valve body (bypassing the unions)
2) a 1 piece cast body.
3) Brushed Nickle knobs.rings,,

Any Ideas,, slim pickings on the 2 handle set ups,, a Moen single handle posi temp would look a little funny for just a tub spout.
Manufacturers are a little light on details about if you can direct sweat

Thanks,
Nick

For a solid 2-handle tub valve setup with direct sweat copper connections and a cast brass body, look into Central Brass or Gerber. Both offer durable options and some brushed nickel trim availability. You might need to mix and match trim kits for the exact look. Always confirm with the manufacturer if direct sweating is supported, as many models now assume threaded or PEX connections by default.
Thanks,
Yeah, advertisements and manufacture literature is short on info.
A few stated CxC or sweat connection,, but it was sweat to the union coupler,, then connect the union to the body.

FNPT would work to,, as I could clean, flux, sweat the threaded connection.

I'm batting zero on this,,
Are there any 2 handle valve bodies that do not have unions and have Nickle trim available

You could do something like this and have a pressure balancing valve.

Or there is this, but to meet code you need a thermostatic mixing valve for the hot side to prevent scalding and burns.

Both are available in 1/2" mip outside / 1/2" cc inside.
