Hello,
First, thank you for the great forum and time taken to respond to questions.
Attached is a picture of my friend's existing basement laundry area. My friend asked if I could modify the existing washing machine drain. The washing machine currently drains into the utility sink. Utility sink drains to a sump pump, which has failed in the past and caused a flooding problem. (If I'm correct, the washing machine should drain into the stack.)
Explanation of attached pic:
- 2" PVC coming in from the right is the 2nd floor kitchen sink
- main stack is shown on the left hand side of the picture.
Question: is there an option to add a 2" drain and trap for the washing machine? I am sketching 2 options I am thinking about and will upload them shortly.
Thank you in advance for your help.
