Non-pros who may shop at the Big Box stores may not have any idea what some of the fittings are. The Charlotte Pipe link has a nice .pdf file that you can print (if you want to print 48 pages) that gives pictures and installation dimensions. It also includes good information on assembly procedures.

Some of the unusual fittings won't be available at Big Orange, and some may be more expensive, but they can save space and solve problems if you can get them.

Even well equipped supply houses will not have all the fittings in the catalog. Unless they have a demand for more than one or two a year, there would be no reason to carry them.
