Two questions:

1. I'm using a regular ratchet style PVC tubing cutter I bought a while ago. It cut the PEX just fine, but is it mission critical that I buy a "PEX rated" tubing cutter?

2. Does the cut have to be EXACTLY straight?

Is there a tool you'd recommend that would make the cutting part easier?

Thanks!

I like the Milwaukee 1 in. ProPEX/Tubing Cutter. It is the second one I have tried, and the first was a really cheap one. I am confident it would work with other PEX too.

Perfection is not needed, but I don't know how much imperfection is OK. You should square the tubing to the tool by eye.
