Hey all,
I'm working on a small bath room remodel currently and was thinking about putting a wall hung toilet and sink in. To do so, I was planning on adding an additional 2x4 half-wall frame adjacent to the existing wall to fit the Gerberit system in. https://www.geberitnorthamerica.com...geberit-toilet-cisterns/for-2x4-construction/
My question regards moving the existing flange and turning it into a vertical discharge. As you can see in my picture, the flange is about 13" off the existing studs. Behind the flange you can see the 3" vent line that vents the nearby sink, shower, and this toilet. I can think of two options that may make this work, but I'm not sure either is actually a great idea. Please advise. Option 1: cut the flange out and move its piping back to just in front of the 3" vent pipe so that it would sit in line with the 2x4 half wall. At this moment, I'm not sure how much depth of pipe there is to work with to make this connection. OR Option 2: to cap the flange pipe and tie the discharge to the toilet directly into the 3" vent (IS THIS ALLOWED?). If you have any other ideas or suggestions or need more information, let me know.
I am aware that both options require some concrete removal and would require a permit/inspection.
