Hello. I'm at a loss right now. I have a 1-1/2" brass tailpiece with a wye and am trying to hook it up to the strainer. However, the 1-1/2" rubber washer made for the brass sits half inside the bottom of Strainer and half around the tailpiece and it leaks once I tighten. Do they make like 1-5/8" or 1-3/4" OD washers. This is the last thing to finishing up my sink and have been going crazy trying to fix this and save money. Any ideas? Thanks.

They make basket strainer washers that are flat reinforced rubber that is a little wider, and they make an vinyl washer that has a drop down edge that centers it on the tailpiece.
Normally basket strainers come with the nylon washer. There are a few options on those.

Thank you Terry. Yes I definitely have a basket strainer rubber washer. Can I use nylon on brass? Does this link from
look like what you are referring to about the washer on the tailpiece?https://www.google.com/search?q=tai...=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#imgrc=r6fxaT5q5BqFvM:

Thanks again!

Yes you can. Plump Pak sells them (PP855-15). Or, buy a new strainer basket and use the vinyl washer that comes with it (surprisingly, might be cheaper).
