How do I extend this sink's p-trap arm to the wall?

We are repurposing our old bathroom into a pantry. I would like to move this utility sink to the corner and run the trap arm to the existing wall adapter, which has a 1.5" ID. I don't understand how/why the trap pipe diameters are different than the normal pipe diameters. How do I go about routing this trap arm? Are they specific trap arm extension pieces and bends?

The image shows my intended route. The trap arm can extend to the back wall. I would like it to bend 90, then follow the wall to the adapter. The trap arm has a 1.5" OD as well.

I cant see your connection from my house glue a short piece of pipe in then a 90 piece of pipe and trap adapter followe by a tubular p trap. asuming thats an abs hub fitting in the wall .

It's a 1-1/2" trap adapter currently in the wall.

well you maybe if it is plastic you can cut it back flush with hub and then drill it out with a ram bit and proceed as I mentined . a bit of a hassel but not too bad just gotta spend 15 bucks on a ram bit

I imagine I could by long tailpiece extensions and slip/compression joints to form a route back to the trap adapter, but will that work?

yes it works anything that dosent leak "works" but Id recomend my other way
