This cartridge has stopped putting out hot water. zero hot. Forgive me, I’m not a plumber. But, When I turn off the cold water side of the housing (using the little screws on the housing) zero water comes out the cartridge. When I turn on The cold water side, only cold comes out. Seems like the cartridge is simply not allowing hot water through……

any ideas?

replacing the cartridge is certainly possible but sources in the USA are either out of stock or won’t ship for over a month. Ideas?

thanks in advance.

The Grohe 47860000 shower cartridge is a pressure Balancing Cartridge. If you turn one side off (using the little screws on the housing) the other side will balance. Turning one side off is zero pressure so the opposite side balances to zero pressure.
Grohe inventory says the 47860000 should be back in stock this week. If you take the Cartridge out of the rough body and then do your test....Both hot and cold water should blast out of the housing. If you still get no hot then its something else.
Good Luck

Thank you for this info. I had previously done the ”balancing” and the “water flow with no cartridge” test. Water flow (hot and cold) is fine. Cartridge is just not letting hot through. I’ll watch for inventory and order a new valve, hopefully this week. The picture that you inserted Is not 47860. Here it’s is from the website and it fits what I believe to be my trim kit (also attached).

Ok. It sounds like after your pressure test that you are on the right track with waiting for a new cartridge. The picture I posted is a random grohflex cartridge (not your exact model). I did this to benefit future viewers of your post so they have an idea what is being talked about.
Best.
