I am on a well without an iron problem. Water hardness 28 GPM. I Should I consider a fine mesh resin system?
Does fine mesh resin have any advantages for longevity?
Efficiency?
Any reason why not to have fine mesh resin if the price is about the same?
ANy advantages of standard resin?

Standard resin is pretty fine already.

Fine would have higher backpressure, but would have some other advantages. I have nothing comprehensive for you.

Backwash rate would be smaller with fine.

Fine mesh resin is a good option if you have to use the softener for iron reduction.

High hardness, low iron, low pH, fine mesh resin is fine. If you have higher levels of iron, consider an iron reduction system ahead of the softener.

Have you had a real water test completed?

These guys are excellent! The well standard is the most common test.
