Can't seem to find a cast iron deeper than 14" and want at least 16" depth for an alcove. Kohler: Archer, Underscore Acrylic or Mendota cast iron. Now someone just mentioned the Duravit architect.....Input appreciated.

Americast Cambridge has some quality control issues but is otherwise a good compromise.

I think you'll find that making a mold to cast the tub has some practical limitations that may be the reason why you don't find them deeper. Plus, they're quite heavy as is, and deeper means even more. If you want something that deep, you may be stuck with some other tech. I'm assuming you're talking about the basin depth, and not the total height of the tub.

Search for a "soaking tub" as it will have the additional depth you want. Kohler makes an acrylic tub, the K-1490, in a standard and whirlpool jet version. It provides 20 inches of water depth. I bought it because it is only 48 inches long and left more room for a curbless shower addition to the bathroom.
