Hello. I'm wondering if someone can help me identify the model number/replacement model number for my single handle shower cartridge. I believe it's a Moen since my kitchen sink is a Moen and I believe my contractor used the same brand for all faucets. I could not find a manufacturer marking on the shower itself.

The handle leaks when moved, so I am trying to replace the cartridge. I've already tried Home Depot, Lowes, and a local plumbing supply wholesaler. None of them had a clue where I could find a replacement. The wholesaler spent about 20 minutes searching their various catalogs. I also tried searching without any luck on arpny.com, which was mentioned in another thread.

Greatly appreciate any help identifying the cartridge.

Thanks for the reply, but it's not Danze. I submitted the photos to both Moen and Danze and both said it wasn't theirs. Any other ideas?

I still think it looks a lot like danze or Mirabelle (I think they use a danze cartridge.)

Gerber looks close maybe?

It would help if you laid the cartridge down next to a ruler to determine the length. A picture of both ends taken straight on would help to identify the cartridge and the pressure balancing unit too. Is there an extension on the handle end? If you can show what the valve looks like inside etc might help too. There are several that look very similar.

Here are a few extra photos. The one beside a ruler looks like it's about half and inch shorter than the Danze replacement you posted, but otherwise looks identical.

Look at this Danze link:

b. To remove the cartridge, begin by removing the base nut, followed by the sleeve.

b. Hold the stem of the cartridge and pull up until the cartridge is completely removed from the faucet body.

Step 2 – Install the new cartridge

a. Locate the locating pins on the bottom of the cartridge and locate the corresponding holes in the faucet body. Insert the cartridge and rotate it until it slides down into place.

b. Re-install the sleeve. In order to avoid over tightening the sleeve, hand tighten the sleeve, and then use the adjustable pliers to apply a quarter turn. Approximately 10-14 lbs of torque are required to properly install the sleeve.

c. Re-install the base nut and hand tighten.

Step 3 – Test for leaks

a. Once all of the parts are re-installed, turn on the water supply for the faucet and let the water run for aproximately 10 minutes. If you notice that water is leaking from the ceramic disc cartridge, tighten the base nut and test again.

Yeah, that looks similar to mine but the valve stem is a different shape (mine has 4 ridges). I referenced that article when I emailed their support and they pointed out that difference, claiming that their stems have never looked like mine

I don't see how they could say that their stems have never looked like yours when the Danze A507165 Ceramic Single Lever Cartridge that I linked to is shaped just like yours and it has 4 ridges. The length looks close but I can't tell for sure. Only the color looks different to me.

Thanks a bunch for all your help. I sent an email to Mirabelle with the photos above, and they got back to me right away stating they do believe it's theirs and asked for a few extra photos to know for sure. My measurements are exactly correct for the following replacement part:

https://www.ferguson.com/product/mi...isc-mirlsvlv1407crt/_/R-4099901?skuId=4099901

The overall size of the replacement is 5 3/4"
The metal stem of the replacement is just over 2 1/4"
(they sent me the replacement measurements -- not available online)

I'll post back when they reply.

Hey Gadgetman- howdy from Houston Texas. I have the exact same problem! I am glad you shared with the rest of us. Did the Mirabelle 1407 work after all? If so, I'll order one on Monday! Thanks!
