I am replacing a volume control cartridge on my 18-year-old Danze Parma two-handle thermostatic valve. I have the Danze genuine replacement part in hand but having a terrible time trying to remove. Even stripped a shower valve wrench trying to remove it! Suggestions on removing.
thanks in advance

I'm not seeing the hex on the body. Extra Deep socket would be normal next step in your case.
It's buried back in there and is reachable with shower valve tool. The hex is a 1-3/32. I actually stripped the hex tool. It was a $20 Husky set from Home Depot. The nut is thin and was unable to get good purchase on it and thus it stripped.
