Converting double wye

I’m installing a new sink and want to simplify the pipe layout from current layout in photo. Can I use a center outlet waste instead, like in this other photo? Thanks…

In some places there are local codes which require a trap for each basin.

I would not, but if the tee is a baffle tee it should be okay and not let water flow from one basin into the other.
