Hi everyone. I struggled whether to put this here or in the Water softener forum.
Dealing with non-winterized cabin that has arsenic in the well water. To give you an idea of how non-winterized it is....last winter, the antifreeze in the toilet froze
I've been researching arsenic filters (tanks like a water softener) and it's unclear what happens to the media from October to April. I can't imagine it would be very "clean" sitting at the bottom of the tank....as it would be moist and in a closed off environment. You couldn't fill the tank with chlorinated water....it would freeze. Does the tank need to be removed from the property and stored elsewhere?
The arsenic media is so expensive ($600-700) that it would be cost prohibitive to replace each year.
Am I missing something?
