Hi,

I’m looking for advice on how to properly install a drain line for my water softener, water treatment system, and brine tank in my basement. I have a bit of a unique situation and would appreciate any guidance.

The Setup:

Basement: My water softener and treatment system are located in the basement (plan to install near the main water line), where the main drain line is about 3 feet above the floor.

Water Softener and Treatment System: I need to install drain lines for both the softener and treatment system that will flow into this existing drain line . The softener discharge and treatment system are both slightly higher than the lowest point of the main drain line.

Existing Drain Line: I have a drain line from the upstairs laundry room that slopes down into the basement, eventually connecting to the main septic line.

Options

I have two options:

Leverage laundry drain: Aquasure told me that the drain line should not vertically over 7ft. I could get the two Aquasure drain line 1/2" & 3/4" go up and then figure out a way to share the laundry drain

Install a new drain line with light slope: The softener still higher than the lowest drain point about 3 ft. So it is possible to build a new drain line in the basement, it's just the location is really far, so I am not sure the slope will be enough, same time, it's not ideal to add a big project build so long a drain line.

I prefer Laundry drain, and the height will not enough for me to go to the washing box, and I may need to open a cut in the drywall, and figure out a way to connect the two drain line with 1/2" & 3/4" barb to a 2" laundry drain line before the P trap, the space is very limit, I want to ask what's the best way for me to connect two barb drain line to the 2" ABS drain pipe? What kind of the connection should I use? Does it will match the code if I connect it inside the wall? Do I still need air gap if the 2" ABS drain pipe actually connect to the air since the washer drain pipe just insert it without seal.

I am new to plumping DIY, thanks for help.

This is my basement, main water line, and the black one is laundry drain connect to the main one, and along the way connect with the main septic point.
Red line is simulate what I try to do to connect two drain line upward.

This is the upstairs, washer box, the drain go down and through a P-trap and then go downstairs.
I need to connect the two drain line(1/2 & 3/4 barb) from downstairs to the 2" ABS drain. Since I could not go exceed 7",
I could only connect just above the P-trap a little bit. 2ft above the ground.
