I use the well only for outside watering. With two sprinklers running it takes the pump 69 seconds from cut in to cut out. From cut out to cut in it's 23 seconds. This can't be good for a continuous duty pump. The pressure tank is a 20 gallon. would it be worth it to change to say a 30 or 32 gallon tank?
Thanks.

Just change the pump to an irrigation pump and ditch the pressure tank. No pressure switch or tank is needed. A larger pressure tank will not help at all. If you want to continue to use your existing pump, look into a CSV valve. https://cyclestopvalves.com/

Another additive is add more sprinkler heads to dump more water. If you use the well for hand watering with a garden hose connected to a spigot, then a pressure tank is needed.

20 gallons is your current pressure tank's total volume which includes the air chamber. Your 20 gallon tank will actually contain only about 5 gallons water. A 30 gallon tank will store only about 7.5 gallons water while a 40 gallon will store only ~10 gallons.

To eliminate cycling, install a Cycle Stop Valve as recommended. Since you may continue to utilize your existing 20 gallon tank and pressure switch with a CSV, the cost for a CSV alone maybe comparable to the cost for the larger pressure tank you are considering.

This watering load would be a great match to a CSV.
CSV probably not an option, pressure tank, and switch located in lower level. From the CSV company ...."This model will vent water over time. We do not recommend indoor installations for this reason."

That is only with one model, the CSV125, which needs clean water or will leak. They are made to be installed IN the well anyway, where a small leak is not a problem. Use one of the CSV1A or any other of our valve as they do not vent to atmosphere like the CSV125 does. Gotta find a better excuse not to use a CSV to solve all your problems. Lol!

"IN" the well? Where exactly does this thing go inside a 4" well?

A couple feet below the pitless adapter or well seal.

I have to agree with WorthFlorida. Ditch the tank and water directly from the pump. That’s the way I sprinkle.

Only if it's a shallow well.
The well is 62 feet deep, it has 20 feet of water over the 3/4 HP pump in a 4" casing. The 20 gallon pressure tank cycles alot when using one oscillating sprinkler. I had three running the other day and the pump just ran continuously.

Then your choice is to ALWAYS run 3 sprinklers at a time, or use a Cycle Stop Valve so you can water anyway you want.
