My septic drain pipe is behind my wall studs in my basement that i am finishing. Should i put nail guards on the 2x4 studs in front of the drain pipe? Doesn't seem like it would be needed, but it would be possible for someone to put a screw all the way through the 2x4. is something like this a code requirement?

code is one thing. usually 1.25" depth needs protection.. but its cheap insurance to protect that drain from future potential damage. I always over protect my work. It saves me and my customers headaches down the road.. and when the insurance adjuster comes looking for someone to hang when a nail hole causes a leak..
