P also = E^2 * R, and you can use that to figure out what you need.

A inductive load is different. Power factor at the operating AC frequency needs to be part of the formula.

A AC run cap is used in many applications for a reason on inductive loads. R will not tell you what they are doing. ESR will.

The new packing worked awesome . It was a graphite string. I finally got an current reading off the pump. It draws a total of 12 amps when running and runs allot less now that the pressures are set properly. Now I'll just have to monitor the electricity bill. You guys have been a great help! Thank you!

Edit. Someone asked if I could see anything down the well. I shined a light down and can just see the top of water. Nothing else
