I had to start a new thread for
this years contest....

for the award this year, I am going all out
with a 25 dollar gift certificate to ......WHITE CASTLES..

if you are in a region where they are not available, I can
send you the gut bombs federal express, ready to be re-heated in the micro-wave.

What sane plumber can resist White Castles???

I installed a lav faucet like that too for someone.
I had to dial down the supplies or the water would come out too hard.
I would have felt better leaving the stops open and using a restricter.
The next person to fiddle with the shutoffs is going to change the flow that I spent ten minutes on.
Pig Slop or Art?............Thinking............Not in my home. Art, but then I'm not that artistic.

cookie...its a real estate office

Very strange. Just curious, what type of office?

I dont care that much,
because its is not my home.....

but being in two public restrooms in a Real Estate office
getting used lots every day,
its bound to be trouble just waiting to happen..

they really ought to be in some little 1/2 bath in a big
mansion that never gets that much action...

being a public restroom, Vandalism is in my mind..

and I just dont want to be the poor fellow that has to
unstop the thing if someone decides to hurl in it.....

anyway, the guantlet has now been thrown down...

and I challenge others to post their worst here

I dont want to win this every year

remember the White Castles....

Haven't installed a vessel sink or any real high end plumbing in a long time.

I actually like it because it seems that people think they can spend thousands of dollars buying it, but hundreds installing it.

There are two sources this year, one I abandoned by choice and the other I believe because I don't buy with them, along with a shrinking new construction. I don't miss anything to the idea of dealing with this focus group anymore.

I'll stick to emergencies and normal people. Took me years to figure out how to rail my best targets in plumbing and hone in on it.

Makes life so much easier but sometimes I take a stupid pill just to taste what I don't want to do anymore. Bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Actually mark I somehow already listed, all I had to do was tweak and add some more information.

But I will however add my other 2 companies to that listing service.

Are stating that when someone goes to maps, that a balloon caption pops up notifying there's a plumber nearby?

Explain in detail how it is generating hits for you. I get Google hits all the time but in a different way.

They type in 3 well known keywords that I've purposely made sure gets me found.

Thanks for the heads-up.

I just don't get the vessel sink concept ... to me they are butt ugly and a nightmare to keep clean ... especially at the countertop. I predict this a silly fad and in less than two years you won't even be able to even buy one ... now how about some real slop.

My wife asked me who would want something so stupid. I asked what made it so stupid. She said "you have to clean the inside of the sink and the outside, and all the water spots would be hell." I guess the kind of people that would install one of those would hire somebody else to clean it.

What is next an all glass toilet so you can watch the brown trout swim:D

I for one love vessel sinks; but they are not appropriate for every setting.

Obviously the two that Mark posted are very fugly examples of the wide variety available, as well as the fact that they shouldn't be installed in dinky bathrooms like the ones pictured.

that works for me

that will work fine till some drunk
figures out how easy it is to kick that
arm , break it off ,
and pour urine out everywhere

looks like they used to have a drain behind the one
and it probably kept stopping up allthe time, so they had to
get creative

drain

It probably stopped up once, and some wino offered to fix it for a bottle of rot gut and the price of the parts. He didn't have his 1/4" hand snake available, or it didn't work, so he did then next best thing. Probably overcharged for the parts also.

Figured I'd add this gem. Had the closet open today, so I snapped a pic.

Funny thing is that the venting that was put in at the same time is correct. But they couldn't get this right, and were too lazy to cut more cast above and put in an offset?

I wonder how long this would last. I think it was done in 2001 or 2004. Hopefully the rubber doesn't crack before I get to it in the next year or so.

the rubber gasket

that rubber gasket will alst for a few hundred years....

the only thing working in your favor is the fact
it is on a verticle drop and very little sediment can stick to the bend in the rubber gasket.
even though it is sort of half-** its way off the side of the pipe
...

maybe you ought to get a couple of 2x4s and some duct tape and make something like a splint on both sides of the pipe to firm it up better and hold it more straight in place..:D:D.

that picture could win you a prize in this years contest
