Does anybody know if SAN filter housing material is too brittle to try to tap threads into for a drain port? I have a 4.5x20 big blue style housing.

Thanks

I very much doubt it.

I had to look up SAN. "Clear sumps are manufactured from a clear, Styrene-Acrylonitrile (SAN) and offer on-site examination of the cartridge."

I’ve seen it done on YouTube with an actual big blue housing, and they are made from polypropylene I think.

If you think it’s fine with SAN then I’ll try it lol

The blue housings are more robust than the clear ones.

I don't think it is fine, but maybe it will work.

I think the clear housing are not interchangeable with the blue housings -- different thread I expect.

Oh ok so you meant doubt it as in it’s not a good idea. Hmm
