What's the cost comparison like between available water service line piping materials (as shown by Terry) - copper, CPVC/PVC, PEX, Kitec, galvanized? A

Please provide pros/cons/experiences with any or all materials for water service line installation, especially with detecting/finding/repairing leaks.

Also, are there other materials used by people out there? If so, please provide similar information if available. Note, I'm aware of PB, but understand few people use and most is being (or has been replaced).

Thanks for any info provided.

For the amount of information you asked for, do you intend to pay by the page? It would require a treatise to cover all the parameters for the materials you asked about, including all personal preferences and experiences.

We use Pex for water service lines, easy to install, easy to repair, tracer wire is required on all non metallic pipe.

Won't split or break if frozen like the other type of pipe.

It's just good stuff to work with.
