Hi. Homeowner looking for professional opinions on water powered back up pumps. I'm leaning toward the Zoeller 540 or the Liberty SJ10. What have you pros used and recommend?

I know nothing about these pumps but you better check your local jurisdiction if they are allowed. You're placing domestic waterline into a septic system. If allowed you probably will need a double valve anti backflow "preventer", not a "valve".

Call your local Zoeller Supplier if they are allowed to sell these pumps?

They aren't allowed in my city, but they work fine. You're gonna want am alarm though becuse those pumps alone don't have very much capacity and should only be for backup.

I would go with the Zoeller. I've installed a few liberty models and they work good, but are difficult to get set to the right height and take up a lot of room in the sump pit.
