Any advice for homeowners of a Connecticut lake cottage (age unknown but rebuilt in the 70's). We have noticed that when we shower, water runs out of our well head. What kind of contractor would look at this? Thanks for any advice!

A possibility is a leak in the well head such as a failed pit less adapter or a crack in the pipe feeding the cabin. Shower runs for maybe ten minutes or more and the pump will run for longer periods of time. All other water use is usually a minute or two. A leak will show it self as the the well head fills up with water. Open a garden hose spigot and allow it to run for a while and watch the well head. It would be better if you remove the well cap to get a look inside the well head.

"Well drilling" or "well pump service".

If you want ideas about what the problem is, here are some questions:
1. How high above or below ground level is the well head?
2. Is what you call the well head at the well casing if known?
3. Is water coming up around the outside of the casing, or does it appear to be coming from the inside top of the casing?

Hey, wait a minute.

This is awkward, but...
