While doing other work decided to replace the air vent on a water boiler. I guessed wrong and ordered a 1/4" vent (honeywell FV180A) instead of 1/8 (FV180).

Question is, is it OK to use with an adapter? a 1/8" close nipple and a 1/8 to 1/4 adapter/reducer/coupling (as you prefer to call it) would do it and to my thinking is fine for the purpose, just risking more leak points.

I could just order the right part, but, cannot honestly expect the online supply house to take it back without charge. I guess one good reason to use local walk in places.
