Just bought a used Zoeller 1463-006 motor 98L110 convertible jet pump and it looked as if black oil was on the threads of the one if these pvc pieces that screws up into the pump that we removed before transporting it, and in the threads if the hole it screws into. I felt it and it had slip as it would I it was a oil or grease. Can it leak oil or grease from there, and if so what would I have to do to fix that please? I was wondering why the guy I bought it from said the oil may need to be checked in it after i bought it. I've only ever installed Pentair Sta Rite deep well jet pumps before, and I've never was taught anything about having to check any oil in either of those? Please advise because I was unable to check it before buying it, so I hope it works or can be fixed by my ordering parts and replacing them. Thank you in advance for any suggestions and advice.
