It doesn't make sense. Are you looking for a shower only faucet? A tub and shower faucet needs a way to fill the tub. Without a diverter the tub would fill and the shower would not come on.

Any brand name shower only faucet will work. We generally use delta because parts are ubiquitous. Any r 10000 valve can be used in the wall, there are shower only types that have no port on the bottom for a tub but even a tub and shower type can have the bottom port plugged and be made a shower only valve.

Sorry I'm not plumber so I'm probably confusing things. No not shower only I want tub and shower I just don't want the little pull on top of the tub faucet to divert the water to the shower. I'd rather have a mix valve with the diverter not on the tub faucet.

Yeah gotcha. That type still exists but has generally fallen out of favor because they are so troublesome.

We steer people away from these so I haven't installed one. Tub spouts are easier to change and tend to work a little better. I do trust delta though.

You are stuck with that unfortunately .. there are three ways to divert from tub spout to the shower and two of them involve changing the shower valve behind the wall .. I take it you probably don't want to have to do that. That's a decision made when you build your bathroom unfortunately.
