Bought house in 2007 and Replaced all waste pipe except cast iron stack vent..but since then my toilet always bubbled up first before flushing.

I replaced the toilet last week and water level in bowl drops down with nothing else on. It doesnt fill back up. When I flush it splashes up as if its a Bidet. Lol. It flushes fine after that initial gasp for air.

Nothing in home backs up.
Toilet in basement flushes fine.

I went on roof, used a hose, vacuum, camera abd snake .

The only thing i found was pieces of hard clay in waste line.

Question is..... how far can a blockage be to affect the main level toilet? Street is 75 feet away. Basement toilet is closest to street and is fine.

I think the problem is in the toilet or very close. Try closet Auger
I changed back to old toilet. Water staying in bowl but you can see it bubble up on initial flush. Odd.

Would laundry nearby be an issue?

Would a blockage near street be an issue? Im not sure how plumbing drains work.

some sort of blockage if you keep flushing , or run water down other drains you should be able to learn something as to where a stoppage could be.

Sounds like a clog near the toilet. Pull the toilet and auger or snake it (augers tend to mess up the porcelain IMO) to see if you can find any blockage

What was the result? Curious minds wanto know.
Cause?
Thank you.

How are those heavy cast iron vent pipes sealed? Melted lead?
(Makes me appreciate PVC and ABS!)
