We have had plumbers return three times and they can’t find an answer.
We moved in to our new house and all toilets were fine. It is a single story with two bathrooms. After two years living here, we started with this toilet issue. After we washed clothes, one of the toilets would often plug up. Using a plunger would clear it. It started happening more and more often. The toilet would bubble up and spray the sides of the bowl. Also we would find the water level in the bowl would be lower than it should be.
We called a plumber in and they scoped the sewer line to the street. They thought at first that it sagged approaching the street. Instead they found that the pipe running to the street was bent and cracked where it came up to a clean out. They repaired that. The plumbers thought the repair would also fix the toilet backup problem. It didn’t. We called them back and they checked the toilet roof vent. They couldn’t find anything in it, but blew it out anyway. They also checked the crawl space vent for that toilet and again could not find a problem. The toilet is still acting up but also it won’t clear up very easily with a plunger. It seems to be getting worse. Today when a shower in another bathroom was being used, the problem toilet started bubbling up. This has never happened before. What the heck is going on!?
