Hello all. I’m looking to reseat my toilet after a leak. When I pulled it, the flange that gets bolted to the subfloor is separate from the drain pipe. It had this flange ring(pictured) over the drain pipe. The drain pipe is in 2x10 blocking between joists and the pipe sits pretty level with the subfloor. So can I use this stainless flange ring centered over the drainpipe like it was or was that the problem that caused my leak? Obviously it’s 2 separate pieces so there will be a gap. Maybe the wax ring takes care of that?

Or do I need to install a new flange that’s glued into the drainpipe and has its own boltdown holes?

Thanks
