I live in Montreal. Cold winters, hot summers.
I have a York YHE30B21SA heat pump
And I have a Lennox iComfort m30 thermostat.
Last winter I think I went and fiddled with the advanced settings (you know the ones it warns you not to touch?) Anyway, last week when I had the thermostat set to auto (so it either heats or cools depending on the outside/inside temperature I noticed the house got too warm. The thermostat showed it was in a cooling cycle but the air from my floor vents was warm.
After asking AI, I decided to do a factory reset on the thermostat. When it restarted I had to fill in a bunch of settings. Again I asked Grok (AI) to help me set them "correctly".
My thought was I messed something up when I played around in the settings, and only noticed this when it was time to start cooling.
Anyway I set everything up and still this issue persists. I set the thermostat from Auto to straight up cooling, and it still blows warm air intermittently.
I will share all the advanced settings as they are currently set on my Lennox icomfort m30. Maybe someone can spot a glaring mistake which is causing this. I'm hoping its a setting issue and not a problem with the machine. Anyway here goes:
System Setup: 1 stage HP unit
Outdoor sensor: yes
Residual cool: 60
Balance point: enabled , low balance point = -8.89 Celsius / high balance point = 2.87 Celsius
Temperature control mode: normal
Dead band: 2.78 Celsius
Smooth setback recovery: enabled
Offset: temperature offset = 0 Celsius / humidity offset = 0%
Stage differential: stage 1 differential = 0.56 Celsius / stage 2 differential = 0.56 Celsius
Stage delay: stage delay timer = on / stage 2 delay = 10 mins
H/C Stages locked in: disabled
Compressor protect: enabled
Terminal settings: H/D = humidify / ACC(accessory) = off
If anyone can see something causing this issue due to my settings please let me know. Thanks.
