Here is a FAir Warning about the new A.O.Smith FVIR gas heaters

I installed a new 09 FVIR 40 gal Gas water heater from A.O.Smith today....
it was a warranty change out only....

I thought I would look at the bottom of their NEW heater and see if they had made any decent improvements to their older 03-04 models...

to my absolute astonishment, it appears that they have actually taken a giant step backwards in design,

in fact I think they have copied exactly the old WHIRLPOOL DESIGN.....

I honestly cant beleive that they can be this stupid...

they now send the heater out with a lint barrior around the bottom lip of the unit, and they actually have less of a air intake than their old heater and it looks almost exactly like the whilpoool units!!!

please see and review for yourself.... does this make any sense to anyone that they would design their units like one that has literally millions of failures on the market already?????.

new 09 A.O.Smith FVIR HEATER

A 2005 defective whirlpool

Is this company is totally out of touch with reality.. or am I????

any opinions on this would be appreciated, cause this has got me stumped

if you think I am nuts, just go ahead and tell me so...

I would not install this dog for any of my good customers....

A. O. Sh= t water heaters

Mark you are not looking at the bigger picture ! !

The main thing is it won't explode if gasoline fumes get into it !

Oh, now I understand

Mark you are not looking at the bigger picture ! !

The main thing is it won't explode if gasoline fumes get into it !

so, what you are saying is the quality is not the issue...

if it lasts only two years and clogs up with lint that is ok...

its the SAFETY that is all that counts ......as long as it prevents a fire from happenning, then they have done the absolute minimum like the government wants...

when you are the fellow having to
repair these dogs.....

the big picture sucks..
