There are a lot of people who ask for showerheads that put out a lot of water. What are you looking for? A showerhead that put out a little water at high velocity could be considered to maximize water pressure.

Chatham 10-2s has a tight and full water pattern @ 2.5GPM

A shower head cannot increase pressure it can increase velocity

If you have 60 PSI at the main no matter what you other then installing a booster pump your pressure will remain the same with some friction losses

The problem with low flow shower heads is the danger of scalding when I have testified dozens of times in court

When taking a shower and someone flushes a toiler with a flushometer for example the decrease in cold water causes a severe pressure drop of the cold water and the tempered water can reach scalding temperature in less then one second

This is an old thread that people may still look at after finding it on a search.

As was said, the actual pressure is not changed when going through a shower head's nozzles...it can increase the velocity. A rain shower head doesn't restrict the flow much (if at all) and thus the water dribbles out without being accelerated. The Bernoulli principle is in play here. The restriction forces the fluid to try to speed up.

There's a neat design shower head out of New Zealand that uses some clever nozzle designs...each one is paired, and they are designed to impact each other, spreading the spray out to give a more even flow. Many of their models are available here in the US, including at HD.

We are looking to replace the shower head in our master bath with a handheld unit. Looking for something that has some added height since I’m tall (most handhelds have that), has a good variety of water modes, one where the tubing to the hand set doesn’t get in the way to much, and also helps to address the periodic relatively low water pressure in our house. What might you recommend? Any specific features I should look for? Thanks a lot.
