Hey there! I am replacing a dishwasher that is about 10 years old and was installed with a complete kitchen renovation.
it was hooked up with a solid copper line and is not next to the sink. It is about 10 feet away. Plumbed through the wall...
Without having to call a plumber, I was hoping to replace myself. The original solid line is a bit wonky and not straight. Photo attached...
Guess the inspectors were fine with this since it was an addition on the house that was fully permitted.

I left the old drain pipe from the dishwasher to the drain to show how it was hooked up with the high loop.
Is there a way to easily straighten the copper line?

I am hoping for the best but before I proceed I had a few question about the best way to proceed
1 - perfect world, the new dishwasher would be an exact fit and easy to connect the solid line or a small cut to fit
2 - Am I over thinking this and just cut the copper line and add a short flex line between the copper line and dishwasher or is that not recommended?
3 - worst case, tear out the kick plate along the cabinets and snake a long flex line from dishwasher to sink. Would probably need to connect two together. Not sure I have ever seen any 10 feet long.

Thanks for any help!!!

Over the years the connection at the DW have changed. Search on HD and you'll see different lenghs and fittings. Like most homes on LI built during the 50-60's, soft copper lines was the go to.

Do not bury a flex line behind anything since It can fail more often than copper. Better off going all the way with soft copper. You can add a few feet of flex line to give a some wiggle room and flexibility to make the final connection. How is your discharge line done? I'm assuming this is a slab foundation.
