Hello,

A DIY guy here.

I am attaching some pictures of the kitchen and bathroom under sinks plumbing.

Kitchen Sink - Pic 1 (the Main shut off valve and the cold water shut off valve)

Kitchen Sink - Pic 2 (hot water - sink and dish washer)

Vanity Sink -Pic 3 (cold, hot and hose bibb supply lines)

My question:

I am planning to replace all 1/2" - 3/8" valves (sweat installation). Is it necessary or advisable to replace all copper fittings?

Thanks.

If the existing copper fittings are in good condition, it’s not necessary to replace them. You can sweat the new 1/2"–3/8" valves onto the existing pipes. Replace only any fittings that show corrosion, damage, or leaks.
If the existing system had an acid flux, then the fittings may corrode after a few years.
For peace of mind, I think replacing fittings for less than $16 is well worth the effort.

Additionally, the existing may have a lead type of solder, which should also be replaced.
