We replaced our fridge yesterday and the new one is giving an error message showing not enough water supply to the ice maker. I’m guessing it has something to do with the saddle valve that’s at least 15 years old and should probably be replaced sooner rather than later. A few questions:
1. How likely is it that the issue is with the fridge and not the valve?
2. How problematic is replacing the current shutoff with a proper dual outlet valve given that the sink is pretty close to it? Guessing the disposal will need to be removed.
3. The shutoff is very inconveniently placed right behind the disposal, is there some way of moving it that isn’t too complicated/expensive?
And not sure if this is allowed, but if anyone can recommend a good plumber in the DMV (DC/MD border) area please share their info!
