First of all, thank you to this forum for all of the help so far. It has been a great resource.
At the moment, I'm preparing to replace my old softening system with a Fleck 5600-type valve, but the (new) valve is one of those knock-offs that was one-third the price. The catch is that I'm pretty sure it could use a few tweaks in order to optimize it. In order to avoid wasting salt, softening media, and/or water, I would really appreciate advice before I install it. The manual is, well, vague.

In other words, I'm asking if this thing is already set up sensibly, or if it's recommended that I swap out some of its parts (like the Drain Line Flow Control button, the injector, et cetera) first? My tank is a 10"x54", and it has around two cubic feet of softening media inside. In case this matters, there will also be an adjacent neutralizer with a backwash-only valve as well, which is actual Pentair equipment. For context, I'm more of a Carpenter than a Plumber, so go easy on me.

I have the same valve was alot cheaper. I have been robbing parts off my old valve that I thought needed swapped out like the dlfc button new one had a 7.0 I put a 2.0 in like my old one had same thing with the blfc button new one had 1.0 replaced that with a .25 like what I had in the old one. new one says as yours does #4 injector but when I checked that it was white two piece and with all my online searching white is #1 and it has white. Everything seemed to be fine as far as water softness. Then I watched a regen cycle it started with two inches of brine above the salt platform and noticed on the brine draw it sucked way down below platform then at the end when it bf it didn't fill brine back up to 2inches above platform so I'm thinking something isn't right. So I have no help for you I just wanted to say what I did hopefully some one here will help both of us out. Have a good day

Yes, exactly. Mine looks white, too. I thought white meant #1, but this one is labeled as a #4.
We have to wonder if a knock-off being white means anything.
Maybe I need to take it apart and compare its shape to know.
