Phister Shower Faucet Identification

I just bought a home built in the 1950s and would really like to update the bathroom fixtures. Can anyone help me identify what brand this faucet might be?
Also can I replace it with any shower faucet from the same brand?

There is no ridge for a stop tube, so I doubt that it is Moen Could be Pfister, but would need to see what's under the handle for a better identification.

It looks like Pfister to me too, but not sure of the model.

Hi Marlinman, to turn on the faucet you simply turn the handle not pull.

Your valve is a 0X8 . If you need a replacement cartridge use 974-042. Your old one is most likely a 2 piece cartridge. If you want to update the trim you can use any present day non-thermostatic trim.
