Hello,

I am installing a backup battery system for my sump pump. The backup pump uses 1 ½†PVC pipe for the discharge (same as main pump). Is is OK to use a PVC "Y" adaptor before the check valve so both pumps use the same check valve?

Thanks in Advance

It won't work because the main pump will pump backwards through the backup pump.

You need a check valve at the discharge of each pump.
