I have this old toilet and it keeps running (filling), Flapper ok,

If I lift the float ball manually it stops and everything is fine. Do I need a new ball or rod. Any adjustments I can make?

I think it is Briggs toilet model 6024 (1989)

Photos attached

Thx

I have not seen one of those, but after reading a bit, I think turning the white screw at the base of the rod would lower the ball.

If that does not work, bend the rod to put the ball farther down.

This di not fix it I think turning the white screw at the base of the rod would lower the ball.

It's stamped G-709 I think it is a crane 3-79 Monterey, does that seem right?

Would replacing the rod and float help?

Hold the left part of the rod with the left hand. Bend the right part of the rod down with the right.
