I'm trying to help my ex-wife with her water heater. It's somewhat new, but just out of warranty.

She's no longer getting hot water. She looked and said there's no water underneath the water heater like there's been in the past when I've had to replace it. I don't have a lot of experience with this, but could it be something other than the water heater being bad that's causing the issue?

Pilot went out? Gas bill not paid? Propane tank empty?

If electric, it could also be a thermostat or heating element.

Replace the elements, see if you can get it going.

You will need the right tools and the right replacement parts.

Check the gas, water tank, proper installation should be done. Bad Installation can also affect the working process of the water heater. There is no need to change the water heater, just check once the installation process it can solve your problem quickly.
