Our Maytag FB 11 (1990) garbage disposer had something go in it that caused it become noisy . There is nothing visibly stuck and still performs well except for the noise which really bothers us . It’s not that it’s overly noisy but it doesn’t spin quietly like it always had . We marveled at how well it performed and we were actually proud of our batch fed Maytag . We have no clue as to how to get it purring like it used to . Does anyone know if it could be repaired ? Called Maytag cs and waited 20 mins on hold to have them tell me they have no info on the FB 11. Figured we could at least find out what hp it is as a reference for when we select a new one . Noticing there are not many batch fed models available .... Is the ISE Revolution Cover Control Plus 3/4 hp the best option ? Don’t want anything too much larger . Thanks.

I don't see many 29 YO disposers out there. Normally you're talking replacement as I don't know of anyone willing to waste their time on them. Replacement is mainly labor, and repairing would be quite a bit for labor too. They do wear out. They may spin, but the blades do lose their sharpness.
Insinkerator does make good disposers and the Control Plus would work well.

I found this link, but pictures may be of newer versions.

Thanks for the info . Could you or anyone else tell me if you you’ve installed the ISE Excel with the kit to make it batch feed and your opinion ? The Excel looks big but if it performs substantially better than Evolution Cover Top, we would go with it . Pros & cons? Thanks.

You might consider adding the air switch for that.
