I'm not completely sure of my issue. with my Kenmore Ultra soft 280 softener.I had my water softener go down for an unknown period of time (brine line severed) and since I've replaced my brine line its never been the same since. I still get water through the system, but the pressure is very much reduced. I figure i'm not getting good recharges, or my resin bed is fouled up. Ive done several recharge cycles using both Iron out and Res-care solutions.
Also, after recharging I usually end up with a fair amount of salty water in my pipes. I am getting brine fill, and then it drains, backwashes and rinses. I have verified at the drain that water is moving through the system during recharges, but the pressure is minimal when the softener is engaged. Showering is impossible.
