I recently had a clog in my kitchen sink with a disposal. The clock was not in the p-trap, but was further down the line, closer to the main line in the house. I have it unclogged now, since I called a plumber and he used a large snake (this has happened 2 times in 4 years now).

Would Main Line Cleaner http://scotchcorp.com/product/main-line-cleaner/ bottle work for this every half year or so? Would that effectively clear any buildup around the diameter of the pipes?

I also see the Slow Drain http://scotchcorp.com/product/slow-drain/ product. As well as the Heavy Duty Drain Opener http://scotchcorp.com/product/heavy-duty-drain-opener/ .

After the kitchen ptrap, it's about a 25 ft run to the main line in the house. The system is PVC, except for the disposal side. 2 level, 25 year house with basement.

What product should I be using if I want to maintain the a good kitchen sink 25 ft run line into the main? We also get a nasty smell coming from the disposal side. The slow drain maintenance stuff you use once per week says that it takes care of that smell.

I prefer enzymes over acid for keeping kitchen drains clear. Don't let you kids get near acid, and be careful with the fumes when using it.
I stuff I use is safe. I never use acid in my home.
