I’m having trouble figuring out how to make PEX piping coming through a ceiling look clean. When I use foam, it turns into a mess, with foam running down the pipes and creating more work.
Yes, I know it looks rough right now, but I plan to straighten it out. There will be a door opening below the PEX, and the piping will make a 90-degree turn to the left, running down that wall before making another 90-degree turn toward a manifold.
I’ve considered building a soffit or bulkhead at the ceiling, using wood with cut-out circles for each pipe to pass through, then caulking the gaps. I left extra piping on each run because I knew I’d need to tidy it up once I finish redoing that area.
I’m also thinking about redoing the drywall ceiling. If I go that route, I could cut circles in the drywall and have each pipe run through those.
I’m curious—what do others typically do to make this look as polished as possible?
