Hot PVC Glue

Every time I use the purple primer it runs and makes a mess. Replacing an ABS drain line from the toilet with PVC and then connecting to CI. Instead of the purple primer and clear glue, can I substitute with Hot PVC glue which has the primer and glue combined? Or, is this type glue only used in irrigation systems?

They do have PVC primer, easily available, that does not have the purple dye.

Some inspectors want to see the purple, then they know that you've actually used the primer, but as said, it is available in clear. Do not know if that other will work, or is approved, but it should say on the container. But, you may want to ask your local inspector.
