When I replumbed my kitchen sink several years ago, I made a dishwasher wye because I didn't have enough room on my vertical pipe to use a traditional method. I used a wye and reduced with a bushing and then used a piece of 1/2 PVC pipe to connect the dishwasher drain. I haven't had any issues but I was wondering if it would pass inspection when we sell the house.

If that cross piece was slip-joint tubing, would one of these rotated on its side be OK for a dishwasher drain?
