HELP! What shower cartridge is this??

I had a leak from my shower handle, figured the cartridge needed replacing. Original handle was a Moen Chateau pull to turn on handle. Picked up a Moen 1225 but when I removed the current cartridge it looks nothing like it.

Tried to reinstall until I could get replacement and now the faucet will not stay off.

That is the stem to a Moen 1200 cartridge which is a brass version of the 1225. The brass body is still stuck in the faucet.
