Hi all, I am biding a new irrigation system for a new construction project. The landscape architect requested variable speed pump with capacity of 30 gpm. So I called my driller and he wants to install a Frankilin Utility Drive on a 1.5 hp 25 gpm pump. I have no experience with these but am not a huge fan of drives in general, had lots of issues with SubDrives in the past.

Any thoughts on these units?

The Utility Drive is supposed to solve all the problems they had with Subdrive. The Subdrive was suppose to solve all the problems they had with the CP water system, and so on. Every couple of years for the last thirty or so they come up with a new version of VFD that is supposed to solve all the old problems. Utility drive is so new nobody could have any feedback yet. Just give it a few months. :)
