Replacing resin in water softener. The way this was installed, there is no way to disconnect.

Looking at flex valve below, there is a screw that holds the black pipe attached to valve to the aluminum body with bypass. Question - if i put the valve in bypass, can i simply unscrew the aluminum bracket in red box on both sides to disconnect vavle+tank from the bypass assembly? Is this the right way to disconnect and can it be put together easily by sliding back in.

I hate the connections that were made as it doesn't give any option to disconnect except to cut the pipes and redo the assembly. If you have better pictures of how this should be done, please post. TY.

I think so. After putting the bypass valve into bypass, do an immediate regen to release the pressure, before trying to unscrew the valve.

I would mark the position on the floor to help position the tank back to the same place.
