Hi there,
Last several months , I have been noticing that my Fleck 5810 SXT just starts a regen cycle whenever power is restored. I let it do full regen if the regen wasn't done recently but if the regen was just done a day or two ago, I just run down and quickly run all the cycles briefly to finish the regen .But this is just a work around. Does anyone knows why the valve behaves like that?

Does the clock come back up at the right time?

What is the SV?

SV Software Version Displays the software version installed on the controller. I had 3.0, with a problem, and replacing the main board with one with version 3.7 fixed it.

I have a planned power outage this evening so will try to find out about the clock. It seems like the clock is disturbed . Not sure what time it resets to. I will observe and find out.
Where do I look to see the SV?

Look at the diagnostics. See service manual page 14.

Press the Up and Extra Cycle buttons for five seconds while
in service.

If I remember correctly, I sometimes accidentally scheduled a regen by mistake. I think the cure would be to push the Up a millisecond or so before the Extra Cycle button.

After doing your stuff, check that the "Service Icon" is not flashing. If it is flashing, poke the Extra Cycle button again to cancel.

SV is 4.0
When the power comes back, it sets the time to 12.00PM ( which is my Regen time) and starts the Regen cycle.
Not sure what to do.

It sounds to me as if the battery/supercapacitor (not sure which is used) on the board may have failed.

In any case, IMO the cure is going to be a new board.

May be I reset my regen time to see if it changes anything.
Is board replacement easy?
Will I need to reprogram my settings?

Not hard. You unplug connectors. You press a plastic release or two, and the board comes out. However it has been a while, so I don't even remember if it was one clip or two.

Yes. What is your hardness, what size is your tank (either in cuft of resin or dimensions), and optionally, how many people are using the soft water regularly?

Or if you want to duplicate the old settings, read out and write down all of the old settings.
